TOP 10 X-MEN COMICS #2
Number two on my list is the last Jim Lee drawn X-Men comic, who in my opinion is the great X-Men artist of all time. I love Joe Mad, I think John Byrne was great, Paul Smith, the Kuberts, Silverstri, all are great but Jim Lee made the X-Men so awesome and raised the bar so high that it will never be replicated. He is just, in a word, amazing! This issue is also co-written by Jim Lee just to add...

TOP 10 X-MEN COMICS #3
Let’s travel back in time to 1996 for number three on my list. After years of speculation on who the X-Men traitor is, we finally find that the X-Men get “betrayed” by their founder Professor X. He mind wipes Magneto and in doing that a seed is planted in his psyche which eventually blossoms into the X-Men villain Onslaught. This issue on my list deals with the fall out of...

Top 10 X-MEN COMICS #4
Sorry about the delay but I’m back and ready to get back to the top 10 list. We are now at number four. For number four we are going waaaaay back. I was two years old when it was originally released in 1983. This is the last comic on my list written by Chris Claremont and the only issue drawn by the amazing Paul Smith. It also has a very iconic X-Men cover.  Number 4 Uncanny X-Men 173   I...

Top 10 X-MEN COMICS #5
We now get to the top five. This issue wasn’t my first X-Men comic but I remember it as the beginning of me becoming a comic collector. It was the first comic that I could remember that had five variant covers. The art and writing was unbelievable. It was groundbreaking and fresh and of course I loved it. Number 5 X-Men #1 Jim Lee drew this oversized issued and it is beautiful. This...

TOP 10 X-MEN COMICS #6
The first Joe Mad X-Men comic makes the list at numero six. I love Joe Mad… I mean I loved Joe Mad. His X-Men stuff was unbelievable. I had stopped reading comics for a short while and got hooked again while visiting my family in Eastern Washington and stopping in at a KMart. They used to sell a brick of Marvel comics, it was like 8 bucks and you would get like 10 Marvel Comics. The trick...

TOP 10 X-MEN COMICS #7
Now we start moving towards the more modern stuff on my top 10 list. Believe it or not this was my first introduction to the great Frank Quitely. I didn’t read Authority or JLA: Earth 2 or any of his earlier stuff until later and once I was introduced to his amazing artwork I was immediately hooked.  Number 7 New X-Men #114 Looking back I’m not sure if I had read much of anything...

TOP 10 X-MEN COMICS #8
Here we go with number eight. Unlike the past two issues on my list this issue is more of an event. At the time it wasn’t really a big event the way Marvel and DC do it now a days but it is an event as in that it spawned a ton of copy cats and had some big ramifications. It deals with a bleak X-Men future, I believe the first to do so, and is very Terminator like in both story and coolness....

Top 10 X-Men Comics #9
I’m back with number nine of my top ten X-Men comics of all time. As you will find with this list I don’t have a lot of “event” issues. Most of my favorite X-Men comics are the ones where the team is hang out at the mansion and talk about their feelings and emotions or play basketball. That doesn’t mean I don’t like the action packed issues but I’ve always...

Top 10 X-Men Comics #10
My compadres, Rian Miller and Joel Lolar, and I have decided to try and name our top 10 X-Men comics of all time. This should be easy right? Well with the billion of X-Men comics there are out there it is not. I’ve been reading comics since I can remember and the X-Men comics were some of the first. They’ve always had a special place in my heart and trying to narrow it down to 10...

Hey, got some extra cash that is burning your pockets? I am now taking commissions and could really use the help. We recently had a baby, little Ella Rose, and the medical bills have all come crashing in at once. So if you can, any help would be super appreciated and you get a nice piece of artwork to do with as you please. If you would like a commission email me at jesse [at] jessemunoz.com....
